A brand new initiative in Australia’s immigration strategy, Global Talent-Independent Program, has been launched today by Minister David Coleman.
Under this program, highly skilled migrants who are likely to earn more than $149,000 per year in Australia will be eligible for a fast tracked application process towards permanent residency. The applicants must be highly skilled in one of the 7 industry sectors, namely:
- AgTech
- FinTech
- MedTech
- Cyber Security
- Energy & Mining Technology
- Space & Advanced Manufacturing
- Quantum Information/ Advanced digital, Data Science & ICT
The Department of Home Affairs has already placed Global Talent Officers in Berlin, Washington DC, Singapore, Shanghai, Santiago, Dubai and New Delhi.
Under the 2019-20 migration program, 5000 places have been allocated to this program.
